Congratulations to Kate Byrne, Chloe Burke and Aoife McCormack, all 3rd Year students, who joined 200 performers on the Late Late Toy Show on Friday evening.  They were interviewed on their experience in The Irish Independent on Saturday.

Congratulations to Emilie Oudart who received an Entrance Exhibition in Trinity College on Tuesday evening.

 

Congratulations to the Science Prefects, Coralie McMahon, Thea Hodges, Rena Mullaly and Olivia Strong, on organising a very successful series of events to highlight the importance of Science. A science quiz took place every day.  The Science Bake-Off saw twentyfive students bake cakes and decorate them with a science theme.

First Years enjoyed a presentation from Dave, the Zoologist.  Dave brought a selection of reptiles and spoke about snakes, spiders and iguana.

Congratulations to Allyce Malynn, Sarah Dempsey, Isobel Kearns, Aisling Round and Julia Evans  who participated in a very exciting debate against Sandford Park.  Both teams debated to an exceptionally high standard.   The judges awarded the debate to Dalkey.

The Transition Year production, “Sister Act, the Musical”,  concluded on Saturday evening, having been viewed by over 1,200 people over the 6 performances.  Congratulations to all our students who worked together over the past 3 months to stage such a professional production.  Thank you to the backstage Co-ordinator, Ms Jessica Reynolds;  the Musical Director, Ms Annaliesa Evans and the Director/Choreographer, Ms Aisling Green.  The DVD will be available shortly.

Ms Lonergan directed a group who entertained the residents of the Sue Ryder community at their Christmas Party on Friday last and Juliette Hannon and Ava Furlong performed at a launch of a book of poetry in Carraig na Gréine during last week.

Ms O’Brien, accompanied by Ms Kathryn Fitzgerald,  conducted a representation from the Senior Choir at the Parish Carol Service on Sunday afternoon in Dalkey Parish Church.   Our thanks to all the girls who gave of their time to support these events.

Classes will conclude at 15.00 for all groups to facilitate a staff meeting with the DES Inspectorate.

Supervised Study will take place from 15.50 as usual.
