Congratulations to Lucy Rice, Olivia Ní Fhearraigh, Mary Kate O’Sullivan and Aislinn Smyth on reaching the Regional Finals of the Gael Linn Senior Irish Debating Competition.

Thank you to the Student Council, performers, students  and parents for their support for our annual Christmas talent competition in aid of Loreto Rumbek.  We have forwarded €3,500 to Sr. Orla Treacy, Principal of the school.  A particular word of appreciation to our judges who gave of their time – Mr. Ryan Tubridy, Mr. Colm Hayes, Ms Miriam O’Callaghan and Ms Hazel Long.

The Board of Management, Principal and Staff extend our sympathies to the family of Mrs. Angela Maume, former Deputy Principal and Science/Biology teacher who died on Friday 9th February 2018.   Angela was an inspirational educator, a pioneer on access to STEM subjects for girls and a dedicated proponent of the values of Mary Ward.

May Angela rest in peace.

We also sympathise with Mrs. Brenda O’Neill, former Deputy Principal, on the passing of her mother, Mrs. Kay Devlin,  during the week.

May she rest in peace.

Congratulations to the Concern Debating Team, Aisling Round, Allyce Malynn, Sarah Dempsey, Isobel Kearns  &  Julia Evans who defeated Dominican Muckross last week in an exciting debate.  Well Done !

It is now a significant achievement to reach the exhibition stage of the competition and we congratulate them on their preparatory work and thank Ms Lambe and Ms Nolan who acted as mentors for the students.
