Congratulations to the Science Prefects, Coralie McMahon, Thea Hodges, Rena Mullaly and Olivia Strong, on organising a very successful series of events to highlight the importance of Science. A science quiz took place every day.  The Science Bake-Off saw twentyfive students bake cakes and decorate them with a science theme.

First Years enjoyed a presentation from Dave, the Zoologist.  Dave brought a selection of reptiles and spoke about snakes, spiders and iguana.

Congratulations to Allyce Malynn, Sarah Dempsey, Isobel Kearns, Aisling Round and Julia Evans  who participated in a very exciting debate against Sandford Park.  Both teams debated to an exceptionally high standard.   The judges awarded the debate to Dalkey.

The 4th Years welcomed the former Minister for Education and T.D., Mrs. Mary O’Rourke, to Loreto Abbey.  Mrs. O’Rourke spoke of her career and of the importance of the involvement of women in political life.  We thank her for a most interesting presentation.
