The school provides the following programmes of education for its students:

This overall provision is organised as follows:

  • 1st Year - Junior Cycle

    All students study the following subjects to examination level:

    • Business/Home Economics/Music/Art – taster modules
    • English
    • French/Spanish/German – two of the three
    • Geography
    • History
    • Irish
    • Maths
    • Religious Education
    • Science

    The following non-examination subjects are also taken by students:

     Wellbeing (Civic, Social & Political Education (CSPE), Physical Education , Social, Personal & Health Education (SPHE) and  short modular courses in Careers, Choir, Digital Wellness, Drama & Yoga)

  • 2nd & 3rd Year - Junior Cycle

    The following examination subjects are studied by all students:

    • Civic, Social & Political Education (CSPE)
    • English
    • Geography
    • History
    • Irish
    • Maths
    • Religious Education
    • Science

    Additionally, students take any three of the following subjects to examination level:

    Art, Business, French, German, Home Economics, Music. Spanish,

    The following non-examination subjects are also taken:

    Wellbeing (Civic, Social & Political Education (CSPE), Physical Education, Social, Personal & Health Education (SPHE) and in 2nd Year short modular courses in Careers, Choir, Public Speaking, Study Skills & Wellness)

  • 4th Year - Transition Year Programme (Optional)

    This is a specially designed programme of study for students who have completed Junior Cycle. We strongly recommend this option to students. On average, 98% of Third Year students choose to complete this programme.

    The programme includes core and modular subjects and is modified year to year following evaluations with staff, students and parents and on consideration of the strengths of the personnel available to teach courses.

  • 5th & 6th Year – Leaving Certificate

    All students take English, Irish and Maths to examination level.

    They then select four of the following, also to examination level:

    Accounting, Art, Biology, Business, Chemistry, French, Geography, German, History, Home Economics,
    Music, Physics, and Spanish.
    Religious Education and Applied Maths are offered outside of the school timetable for Senior Cycle students.

    Additionally, the Leaving Certificate Vocational Preparation Programme (LCVP) is  offered to  students exempt from Irish with the appropriate subject combinations.

    Students also study the following non – examination subjects:

    Life Skills, Guidance, P.E. and Religious Education
